In order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority and to empower the citizens to secure access to information under the control of each public authority, the Government of India have enacted “The Right to Information Act, 2005” (RTI Act) which came into force on 15.6.2005. In accordance with the provisions of section 4(1) (b) of this Act, Right to Information means right to information accessible under this Act which is held by or under control of a public authority. All citizens posses the right to information. Any person who desires to obtain any information under this Act shall make a request in writing or through electronic means. The information sought by any one will be supplied as per the provisions of RTI Act, 2005. Information can be obtained within 30 days from the date of request in a normal case. If information is a matter of life or liberty of a person, it can be obtained within 48 hours from time of request . The Head of the Institution / principal acts as a Chief Information Officer.  He  has regular interaction with students, staff, parents, industry experts etc. He collects the information from various sources and provides the needed information to the top management and also to different stakeholders
